Homer Sun, Managing Partner

​Homer Sun is the Managing Partner of Animoca Capital and Chairman of the Fund’s Investment Committee. Mr. Sun is a seasoned private equity investor and board member with over 25 years of experience. He is exceptionally well-versed at forging successful long-term partnerships through private equity investments. At Animoca Capital this entails driving true strategic differentiation in company discussions through developing synergies with Animoca Brands and its 450+ portfolio network as well as providing substantive support to management teams in growing in Asian and European markets where the Fund is based.

Mr. Sun was formerly the Chief Investment Officer of Morgan Stanley Private Equity (‘‘MSPE’’) Asia and a member of the Firm’s Global Private Credit & Equity Executive Committee. While leading MSPE Asia for nearly 15 years, Mr. Sun managed and fully invested three Pan-Asian funds totaling $4 billion of capital deployed across approximately 60 buyout and growth investments. Prior to MSPE Asia, Mr. Sun spent 10 years as an M&A banker at Morgan Stanley Investment Banking Division and as an M&A lawyer at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
 
Mr. Sun holds a B.S.E. (Chemical Engineering), magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.
